Finding Your Creative Direction

Finding Your Creative Direction

We all know and admire photographers whose work is instantly recognizable.   What is the common thread? How do they distinguish themselves from their peers?  This is a simple yet elusive key component that can make a huge difference to your success in this very competitive business.

Do you stand out from the crowd?  Do your images convey what your clients will get when they hire you?  What is your “brand”?

To thrive in an increasingly populated and fragmented industry, photographers need more than a solid technical and creative foundation. Truly successful shooters have created a personal style that sets them apart from their peers whatever genre they shoot.

Our panel Jigisha Bouverat (Director of Art Production at TBWA\Chiat\Day), John Sharpe (Photographer Representative), Tom Devine (Associate Creative Director at Kaiser Permanente) will shed some much needed light on this complicated subject.  Our moderator is photographer Matthew Jordon Smith who will help us understand the ways we can focus ourselves and our work to convey this element.
